La’au’s Taco Shop serves up fresh, healthy Hawaiian-inspired fare in a relaxed atmosphere (and spacious outdoor patio) nestled in the heart of Colorado Springs.

We met Mama La’au (pronounced La-OW) on a trip to the Big Island, and found ourselves stopping by her fish shop for the catch of the day after one of our island adventures. Her family or Ohana, as the locals say, started early each day fishing to provide the freshest fish to their customers inspiring friends and family to come together around a great meal.

We became regulars at Mama La’au’s, finding her authentic island attitude, fresh Hawaiian fish and even the 18lb cat that ate fish scraps the perfect combination after a day of island adventures. We knew we had to bring it to the mainland, minus the 18lb cat! Mama La’au and Hawaii’s Aloha culture inspired the vision for La’au’s Taco Shop. Bringing Hawaiian-inspired food and the joyfully sharing of life and adventure to Colorado.

Fresh and Local

Our flavors are a tribute to Hawaii with roasted pineapple, mango, lime, green papaya and fresh Mahi-Mahi on our menu. We added our own twist with more adventurous tastes like Aji de Peru, ancho chilies, fresh radishes, and cojita cheese.

Handmade (really!) tortillas wrap every taco or burrito. But hey, if that’s not your style, build a bowl, salad or lettuce wrap topped with any of our salsas and guacamole mixed by hand, every day. We hope you taste a bit of Aloha (love & kindness) in every bite.
